Which Terminal is Your Flight From?

This is the single most important thing to confirm before leaving for the airport. Terminal 1 handles most domestic flights including IndiGo, Akasa Air, and SpiceJet. Terminal 2 handles all international flights — Emirates, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, Lufthansa, British Airways, Air France and all other international carriers. For domestic routes, Air India, Air India Express, and Star Air also operate from Terminal 2. Always check your terminal with your airline before heading out because T1 and T2 are 2 km apart and transferring between them after arriving at the wrong one can take 30 to 45 minutes.

Ground Floor is the arrival and drop-off level. Domestic check-in counters, baggage claim belts, prepaid taxi counters, ATMs, currency exchange, and the lost and found counter are all on this floor. Passengers dropping off for departure also enter from the ground floor kerbside.

First Floor is the main departure level. After check-in at the ground floor, passengers take escalators up to this level for security screening. Once through security, the airside area opens up with shops, food and beverage outlets, seating zones, and the gate area. The 080 Lounge on Level 1 is located here opposite Gate 34 next to Starbucks. Gates 1 through 11 handle most domestic departures from this level.

Mezzanine Level is above the main departure floor. The premium 080 Lounge Level 2 is located here, above Swarovski and opposite Fossil. The designated smoking area is also on this level, adjacent to the 080 Lounge. The lounge business centre sits between the two.

The 080 Arrival Lounge is on this floor. Prepaid taxi counters, Uber and Ola pickup zones, and the BMTC Vayu Vajra bus station are also accessible from the ground floor.

First Floor handles all check-in for domestic and international flights. T2 has 95 check-in counters including self-service kiosks and automated bag drop. Security screening happens on this level. Art displays, retail shops, food and beverage outlets, and ATMs are spread across this floor.

Upper Floors are the gate and boarding areas. Domestic and international gates are completely separated. International gates are accessible only after clearing immigration. The smoking room for international departures is in Connecting Corridor 1 near Gate C3 on this level. Premium lounges including the 080 International Lounge and spa facilities are also here.

How to Transfer Between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2

T1 and T2 are not connected airside. If you land at one terminal and need to depart from the other, you must collect your baggage, exit the terminal, and take the free inter-terminal shuttle bus. The shuttle runs every 10 to 15 minutes and the journey between terminals takes about 10 minutes. BIAL recommends allowing at least 60 to 90 minutes for this transfer. By 2028, a dedicated walkway connecting T1 and T2 will be ready as part of the airport expansion.

Navigate the Airport Using the BLR Pulse App

BIAL has launched the official BLR Pulse app for live indoor navigation inside both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The app has a WayFinder feature that guides you to any facility inside the terminal in real time. It also gives live updates on security queue wait times, check-in counter status, flight information, food and retail options, and lounge availability. You can download the BLR Pulse app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store before your travel date and use it to plan your movement inside the airport without any confusion.
